Are people now willing to lug around bigger PMPs? Hanvon launched the e800 this week, a giant eBook reader and now Chuwi has announced a jumbo sized 10.1-inch portable media player. Can you call a 10-inch screen portable? The resolution of 1024x600 is sure to offer great video quality. The not so portable media player can work as an eBook reader as well, with support for several eBook formats.

Android slate, ipad, android, apple, android knockoff

A leading philosopher has once said, “If they answer not to thy call walk alone”. The latest breed of iPad knockoffs should take note of this. Instead of boasting a fake iPad tag, they should actually market their pros. Kudos to the stunning black tablet PC featured here that promotes itself as an Android slate rather than an iPad clone. It packs inside a powerful ARM processor and runs Android 2.1.

htc-clone-comparo-1

HTC branded smart phones running Google's Android are all the rage, not just in the West where subsidized handsets are now serving up affordable 'all-you-can-eat 3G data plans to the huddled masses, but also in China where dual-SIM toting clones abound. Here are three of HTC's current high hitters in clone form, compared and dissected for your pleasure.

As part of the IFA fun Eken has invited those interested and in Berlin to visit their booth to see a new white 7” tablet.  Frankly I’m absolutely amazed we haven’t seen more white tablets, but here you go. Specs that Eken have passed on are as follows:

windows, iphone 4, white iphone 4, iphone 4 knockoff, iphone 4 clone, iphone 4 windows

Yesterday we unveiled the Windows version of an iPhone 4 knockoff and it seems like in a short span of time, it has been declared the sexiest iPhone clone ever. The accolades come from the guys at M8cool who got a chance to compare an original and the clone up close.  Yep, it still runs the outdated Windows Mobile OS, but the user interface still looks like an exact replica of the original.

Did you see our recent post about a confused Android media player sporting Windows in its name? The same company has released a new Android tablet with Windows, Android and Nokia’s N series inspired naming. The Windows N6 tablet is based on the brand new Rockchip RK 2818 chip. It runs Android 2.1 and will offer a 2.2 firmware update in the future.

iphone clone windows, iphone, apple iphone, windows os

shanzhai makers have taken their time to launch iPhone 4 clones, but their waiting has paid off. Lately we've seen a lot of well-built iPhone 4 clones and joining the league is a new white one. It hardly looks like a clone as it imitates the original’s wonderful looks and external buttons quite well, but alas, it runs the boring outdated Windows Mobile OS.

hanvon, ebook reader, giant ebook reader, 8 inch ebook reader, hanvon e800

Earlier in April, we heard that Hanvon was launching a jumbo-sized eBook reader with an 8-inch e-ink display. We can now report on an impressive list of specs such as Freescale’s i.MX51 platform based on an ARM Cortex A-8 CPU, 128 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM. Unlike most new devices that have Android, it runs Windows CE OS. The Hanvon E800 has some great add-ons like handwritten touch function, speech function, voice recording, audio player, electronic dictionary and more…

I have to admit that I get a little skeptical or worried about Tegra 2 sometimes. You read a lot of good things about the performance (or what the performance should be like) but you don’t actually see it in many commercial offerings, from any big players the way you might expect to. Heck even the Zune uses the older orginal Tegra. So I suppose its doubly good news to hear that Toshiba and StreamTV will be producing Tegra 2 based tablets.

Window N5 Android PMP, pmp, portable media player, android media player, android os, windows os

Having Windows and Android in the same news title sounds confusing … so does this PMP use Windows  or Android?. Well, the word Windows is just to add some weight to the brand name, it actually runs Android. Android has become the latest trend in media players; many PMPs can now support Android applications as well as a wide range of audio and video formats.
