Smartphones have become a whole lot faster potentially. HTC, the Taiwan based smartphone maker has released its first 4G smartphone, HTC Velocity. It’s the smartest and fastest smartphone you can currently get.
HTC Velocity is powered by 1.5GHz Scorpian dual core processor for multi tasking and a separate Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon with Adreno 220 GPU and 1GB RAM. The phone boasts a 4.5" S-LCD capacitive touchscreen having a resolution of 960x540 pixels at 245ppi pixel density. The HTC Velocity has 8MP camera with dual LED Flash and special rear-illumination for better photos in low light along with 1.3MP front camera. Other than 4G support it has Bluetooth v3.0, WiFi 802.11b/g/n and DLNA for network connectivity. The sad part is that the phone will be shipped with Android 2.3 Gingerbread not the latest Ice Cream Sandwich.
Alice Dohrmann, a gadget geek said “it’s lightening fast, phone calls are crystal clear and I’m amazed at how intelligent it is. They say it’s about five times quicker than 3G, and I’d agree that… it’s almost like having a computer with ADSL internet in the palm of your hand.”
HTC Velocity is a leading edge phone when it comes to speed. The phone is being made available by Telstra, a mobile service provider in Australia about the same price as a premium 3G phone, USD 75 a month on a 24-month contract.
