The Chinese giant, Huawei will have a huge presence in the Mobile World Congress this year. While rumors of quad-core superphones are doing the rounds, leaked snaps of 10-inch MediaPad have sparked more interest. The 7-inch MediaPad impressed earlier with its skinny metal shell. Its 10-inch big brother is also decked up in a thin metal shell to challenge the might of 10-inch Android tablets out there.

It’s raining dual-core smartphones this year and ZTE doesn’t want to be left behind in the race. The company along with NVIDIA recently announced a new phone, ZTE Mimosa X which runs on the dual core Tegra 2 chip.

The first of the Huawei Diamond series of phones has arrived and it’s the Huawei Ascend D1 Q. The Q in the name comes from the quadcore chip that the phone is going to run on and the D of course means it belongs to the Diamond series.

Xiaomi, which has been celebrating over one million smartphones sales in four months, has added another feather to its cap. After testing the waters with China Unicom in December, Xiaomi is now gearing up to launch its best-seller M1 smartphone under the CDMA network of China Telecom. In addition to the launch date slated for March, Xiaomi has also unveiled 1000 units of special low priced edition.

Apple's tussle with the Chinese firm, Proview over the iPad trademark is getting worse with the recent removal of iPad from Amazon China. But not everyone is leaving China, Creative has selected China to debut its HanZpad platform and swanked off various reference tablet designs. This platform is based on the 100-core ZMS-40 SoC and runs the Chinese operating system developed by its subsidiary ZiiLabs.
