If you want a search engine which is compact and does not occupy too much space on your homescreen, the iSearch widget is for you. The best thing about this widget is that it lets you search a large number of sites, and not just Google.
This widget is free on the Android Market and requires Android 1.6 or up. The pro version of this widget is available for USD 3, but it is not very different from the free version.
The widget lets you search more than 50 popular sites from different categories, including social media sites, Amazon, photo sharing sites, online dictionaries and most used search engines.
On tapping on the settings tab, the widget lists the different websites available and you can choose the websites that you visit most often.
When you want to search something on one of your favorite sites just tap on the box displaying the name of that particular site, and type your search words in the search box, the widget will take you to the page you requested.
The widget also maintains a search history and you can even get it to email your search results to a particular email address.
This is definitely a useful widget to install on your Android device if you use your device to search the net.
