Android widget of the day: A battery widget that looks like a petrol gauge

There are a heap of widgets out in the Market but, almost all come with the same dreary look of a small battery icon. If you want to get a different battery widget try the Gauge Battery Widget. It looks like an analog clock but shows your device battery level.

The Gauge Battery Widget is free on Android Market and it needs Android version 1.5 or above.

First, you need to install the widget on your home screen. If you don’t know how to install a widget follow our guide.

You can set it up with a choice of three styles: Gauge Battery Widget (1x1), Gauge Battery Widget (2x1), Gauge Battery Widget (2x2). Your choice will probably be determined by your home screen size.

Select the style and it will directly lead you to the Tools page. Here you can change the look of the widget, its color, the Status Bar icon style, etc. Once you finish click ‘Save & Close’ and the widget will be displayed on your home screen.

The widget has a nice set of colors to select for Dial Color, Battery Percent Color, Background Color, etc.

This is a battery widget that is a little more interesting than most.
