I was trying to figure out how to adjust the screen brightness of my Android device screen since it doesn’t have brightness or contrast controls by default like my desktop monitor. Adjusting screen brightness can help to conserve battery life. Not surprisingly, I found an app called Screen Brightness that does the trick.
The Screen Brightness app is free on Android Market. To use it you just tap on the icon and slide the level to adjust the screen brightness.
There isn’t much in the way of customization for this tool. You can add a Screen Brightness icon on the status bar for easy access or go to Settings and select ‘Display via volume’ to change the brightness by pressing the volume buttons. If you select the volume option then any changes in Ringer volume, Media volume or in-call volume will also show the brightness control.
If your Android tablet doesn’t have a quick way to access screen brightness control then you’ll find this app very useful.
