How to set up a Wi-Fi connection (Android)

This tutorial is for a tablet running the Android OS.
 
So, you’ve got your hands on a new Android-powered tablet and you’re ready to surf the net ... the only hindrance is connecting your little device with a Wi-Fi network. Well, it’s not at all difficult; just follow the steps below and start browsing.

Go to Settings from the desktop menu or right click the desktop menu and  go to Settings.


 
Select Wireless Controls in the settings menu.


 
Select the Wi-Fi tab and tap it once to activate Wi-Fi. 


 
The Wi-Fi check mark will turn green and the tablet will start searching for available Wi-Fi networks in the vicinity.

 

Go to the second tab, Wi-Fi Settings in the ‘Wireless Controls’. Tap it to open.
It will show all the available wireless networks and routers in the surrounding area. 


 
Select your wireless network. It will ask for a password, if your network is protected.
Enter the code to connect to the network or select an open network or Wi-Fi hotspot in the area. 


 
After entering the code of your protected network or selecting an open network, click on Connect.
If the tablet is successfully connected to the Internet, the wireless connection icon will appear in the status bar.
