How to transfer files to an Android device the easy way

Need to transfer files quickly to your Android device? The Awesome drop app provides a browser based interface from which you can drag and drop files from your computer to your Android device.

The way this works is that you install the app on your Android device. Then you go to the Awesome Drop website from the computer or devices that you want to transfer files from, and use the interface it provides to transfer files.

Start Awesome Drop app on your Android device. Open the http://labs.dashwire.com/drop website on your computer (or device where the files are) and copy the code that’s on the website, to the Awesome Drop app window on your Android device.

After you enter the code, a green drop box with the text ‘Drop files here’ will appear in the browser window. Select the files you want to transfer and drag and drop them into the green drop box. This will transfer these files automatically to your Android device.

Note: This works using a HTML 5 ready browser such as Firefox 3.6, Chrome 5 or Safari 5.

Unlike other file transferring cloud apps like Dropbox, Awesome Drop doesn’t store your files on a server, it just sync files between the computer and your Android device.
