If your Android device has an onscreen keyboard and a keypad or keyboard … or one plugged in via USB, did you know that you can switch between them straight from the Android keyboard, without going through settings? Here’s how.
Android allows you to install more than one input method for entering text.
That’s a handy thing but it’s a bit long winded to go through the long process of opening Menu > Settings > Locale and Text > Android Keyboard, to switch between them each time. There is a shortcut to this process, for quick access to Android keyboards. .
The ?123 key on your Android keyboard is generally used to view the number keys on the keyboard. If you tap and hold this key it will display the shortcut to Android keyboard settings and to Select Input method.
Select Input Method to open the list of installed keyboards and tap on the one you want to activate. Now choose how you want to enter text, by typing or sliding. Now isn’t that a much quicker way?! .
