Create your own shortcut keys (Android)

If you use an Android based device with a QWERTY keyboard, you can use keyboard shortcuts to open individual applications. By default, some Android devices come with preset shortcut keys but, you can also customize the shortcut keys to launch different applications.

From the menu list, tap the Settings icon.

Tap Applications.

Tap Quick launch.

The Quick launch screen is organized first in alphabetical order, for the letter keys on the QWERTY keyboard, then followed by the numbers 1-9, representing the numbers on your keyboard. 

Tap Assign application to assign an application for that shortcut key.

Select the application you want to launch with that shortcut key.

The shortcut key will be remembered for future use. In this example, now when I select Search + a it will launch the Alarm Clock application.
