Google has now made browsing and installing apps from Android Market easy peasy. The Google Android Market web store is like iTunes but without the hassle of wires and syncing with computers. Here is how you download apps from the Android Market website.
Until now Android Market was accessible only via Android devices, but now you can browse, install and share apps on the Internet.
The market interface is impressive, simple and straight forward with three major sections—Featured, Top paid and Top free. The apps can also be searched through categories and via the search dialog box on the top.
Click on an app to open its page on the Webstore. Four tabs display all the relevant information about the app including the description, screenshots and top user reviews in Overview, User reviews. When you find an app you would like to install on your Android device, click ‘Install’ for free apps or ‘Buy’ for Paid apps. This will open a pop up window asking you to sign in using your primary Google or Gmail id that is registered on your Android device.
Once signed in, it will open the list of devices associated with the particular email id. Select the device and click Install to start the installation.
The download will start immediately on your Android device and you can see the status of the download from the notification area. The device doesn’t need to be plugged in to the computer that you’re using to browse the Android Webstore on.
In the My Market Account you can see a list of downloaded apps and modify the settings of your Android devices.
There is also a Tweet button next to every app. The easy to use, install and share options in the new Android Market will add to the popularity of the Android platform.
