Android tip of the day: Must have weather and clock widget

Beautiful Widgets has a wonderful set of widgets for weather, clock, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, silent, vibrate, brightness and airplane modes, but the icing on the cake is its weather and clock widget.

Beautiful Widgets can be downloaded from the Android Market like any other app and it costs around USD 2. Once installed, tap and hold the home screen to open the Add to home screen window. There will be many Beautiful Widgets in the list, select Beautiful Home Weather.

Now the weather and clock widget will appear on the home screen.

Tap the date to open calendar where you can add reminders and notes. Similarly, you can set an alarm by tapping the clock.

Clicking the weather icon on the widget will open more details like weather predictions for the next four days, temperature, and humidity, etc.

Beautiful Widgets offers loads of downloadable skins the widget menu. You can access several free skins for the widget from Menu > Clock/Weather Skins > Download Skins.


 
Install them once the download is finished from the Installed Skins tab and the widget will appear with a new skin on home screen. 


 
Beautiful Widgets also has super cute toggle widgets for applications like Bluetooth, 3G, Wi-Fi, and GPS (etc), plus solo clock and weather widgets in different sizes for the home screen.

There are, of course, heaps of apps that can do what these widgets do, but for tablets especially, it is handy to have some things in a widget on the home screen instead of an app you have to open.
