Android app of the day: task killer with an auto kill feature

The Memory Task Cleaner app appears to have been developed by a student at National University, San Diego.  It’s different from other task killer apps in that it has an auto kill option.

Memory Task Cleaner lists the apps on your Android device in three different categories: Processes, Services and Apps. It tells you which apps are running in the background and which are shown on the homescreen. You can tap on the name of the apps you want killed, or just select the ‘Kill All’ option to kill all the apps at once.

The app also provides you with the option of creating an Ignore List, so you can have whichever apps you want running in the background, without the Memory Task Cleaner killing those apps.

This app also has a widget, which you can customize to show whatever details you want shown on the homescreen.



If there are a few apps which you don’t want running in the background, you can add those to the auto-kill list, and forget about them; the Memory Task Cleaner app will do it’s task killing job at regular intervals (set by you) and kill the tasks without you having to take further action. You can specify when you want the app to do the auto task killing, like in sleep mode, when the screen is on/off, etc.

This is a simple app that kills apps running in the background on your Android device, and frees up your device’s memory, thus causing it to run faster and smoother.
