Unless you’re a math whiz straight out of Startgate, or Data from Star Trek, popping off maxtrix multiplication, aviation equations and simplifying radical expressions might involve the use of an advanced calculator computer. The Ultimath Android app, created by a group of brainy teens, comes with a slick interface and is capable of handling complex mathematical calculations that most of us don’t understand, and conversions that are useful to most people.
The app has enough content to make it a worthwhile download. Instead of focusing on just mathematical conversions like a lot of other math apps, it also has Heron’s formula, Pythagorean theorem, radical simplifications, matrix multiplication, incompressible flow, etc.
The Ultimath app is free on
Android Market. The app does have an OS requirement of Android 1.5 or above.

You can convert numbers from one base to another: Binary, Octal, Decimal and Hexadecimal. Select the base and enter the number in the field. The app will show you the answer.

If you find calculating a perimeter difficult, don’t worry because the app has the answer. Just select the shape of the object: Circle, Ellipse, Parallelogram, Rectangle, Sector, Square, Trapezoid or Triangle and enter the value. The app will display the answer for you.

The app also does simple conversions like miles to kilometers, Volume, Temperature Conversion and more.

Theorems like Pythagorean Theorem, Heron’s Formula, and Quadratic formula are included too.

How do you get the second matrix from the first Matrix? It’s simple if you use the Ultimath app.

If you are not a statistics expert and want to calculate the odds of flipping a coin to get X consecutive heads anywhere within a data set of Y flips, go to ‘Statistics’. Enter the details in the field and you will get the answer.

The Ultimath app is great for students who find math a tough, and can also be used as a quick reference in many practical situations that require math.
