Like most Android users you’re probably installing new apps all the time, so much so that your home screens look cluttered. With this little gem of an app you can organize all the other apps under labels and put a shortcut on the home screen for each label.

This app leaves you with the same sort of function that folders have on an iPhone.

The App Organizer app is free on Android Market and you can also get it from AppBrain. You need to be running Android 1.5 or higher.



The App Organizer comes with preset labels but there’s also the option to create your own labels. All labels can be renamed, edited and deleted.

Click New Label from the Menu to create your own label.





The App Organizer provides you with two lists: Apps and Labels. Tap and hold an app from the ‘Apps’ list to get the ‘Choose action’ pop-up window. Choose a label for that app to be associated with or click the ‘+’ to create a new label.



To create a home screen shortcut, tap and hold on the label and a pop-up window will appear where you can select ‘Add to Home’; and the shortcut will be added on your home screen.



In ‘Preferences’ you can change the ‘Single Click action’.



There are three particularly memorable feature of this app:
1) The ability to create custom icons on the home screen; icons that give quick access to your favorite apps.
2) It’s also possible to apply multiple labels to the same app.
3) You can also star any app which you use a lot so they are always at the top of the list.
