Forget USB and Bluetooth, use Dropbox on Android to sync files, photos and videos

A mobile device with a decent camera is an absolute boon, but transferring your images back to your desktop can be a hassle. Last month we took a look at the Dropbox cloud app … now it’s available as an Android device app as well.

When you upload a file to your Dropbox you can then access it from the Dropbox folder installed on your devices. Dropbox automatically syncs and back up files across all of your devices that you have installed Dropbox on.

Install the app on your Android device and create a Dropbox account. Now install Dropbox on your desktop (and/or netbook and notebook). Make sure you register with the same ID on all systems.

You’ll now have a blue Dropbox on your Android device. Select photos, videos, files or documents from your Android device and drop them into the Dropbox and it will be automatically synced to your computer.

If you don’t have Dropbox installed on a system but you want to access those files, you can do so by downloading them from the Dropbox website. The link to downloading these files can also be shared with others.

The free app offers only 2GB of space, but you can upgrade to a 50GB account for $9.99/month and 100GB for $19.99/month.
