The developer of this app describes Astrid as a simple task recording dashboard, but it is one of the most advanced task lists I’ve seen. With it you can create and schedule a to-do list, including a title, description and tags for each one.

More than any other list type app, it allows you to set priorities, due dates, reminders and automatic alerts with beeps, timers, repeated warnings and tickboxes.

There are a lot of options when it comes to creating a new task. You can tag a task so you know what part of your life it’s connected with … friends, work, etc. You can add comments about tasks. There are heaps of timer options, and also a priority level. In addition to all this, you can customize alerts, so you can have a simple beep, or repeated alarms at different time intervals.

To check the current status of your reminders and the time left, click on the pink icons in the notification area. You can also sort your reminders via dates and names, and access a lot of customization options via Settings.

The thing I love most about Astrid is its sync feature. Your reminders and task list can be synced with Gmail Calendar. Use your existing Remember the Milk account to sync or else create a new account. Then install the Remember the Milk gadget with your Gmail and synchronize it with Astrid using these simple steps:

Open the Astrid menu and select More, then tap on Synchronization.

Now tick Remember The Milk and tap on Synchronise now to sync your reminders with your Gmail calendar.
Astrid is a simple to-do manager that will not stop buzzing until the task is done!
