Activating a screen timeout is one of the most obvious things you can do on your Android tablet to save battery life. This can be really annoying though when you’re watching movies or a photo slideshow or when the screen locks up when there’s been no touch activity. The battery saving app Screebl can prevent a screen from timing out and it the saves battery at the same time.
Screebl is an Android app with powerful battery saving features based on the device orientation. It checks whether an Android device is in use or not based on the orientation of the device. Screebl will not let the screen blink out on you while you’re using it but it still saves the battery by giving the screen timeout when it’s not in use.
After installing this app from Android Market, it can be accessed from the Menu. The interface is a clean white screen with an Enable Screebl check box in the middle. Tap on the enable key so that the check button turns green.
Screebl has a lot of handy customization options to configure orientation for both portrait and landscape modes.
For example, you can set an angle range for different modes so that the movement in that range is considered as no activity by the device. Set it to minimum so that screen will not time out when you are holding the device in your hand.
The “in call” behavior feature works great for Android phones and saves power by dimming screen while you’re on a call and displaying the dial pad after a call ends.
Similarly, you can manage screen brightness, sampling frequency and stillness configuration according to your preferences so that Screebl will recognize your preferences and instigate a screen time out only in the right circumstances.
Let your Android device know you better and recognize when you want the screen to sleep.Disclaimer: *Shanzai.com is a news and reviews website, we do not promote specifically the purchase or sale of the products and services mentioned in our content.
