Stumble on the least crowded Wi-Fi hotspots

I love surfing the web on my Android tablet, but it is hard to find a usable Wi-Fi hotspot in a new place. You don’t need to refer the Wi-Fi hotspot directory, you can turn any Android tablet or phone into a Wi-Fi analyzer in order to find the least crowded Wi-Fi hotspots.

Wi-Fi Analyzer is available for free on the App Marketplace or from its website. The app shows the wireless networks around you in a scrolling line graph.

Tapping on a Wi-Fi network opens a bar graph displaying the signal strength and channels used by the network. It’s particularly useful in helping to find the least crowded channel for connecting to your Internet enabled device.

Wi-Fi Analyzer also displays the strength of access points in a speedometer like gauge which is pretty cool.

It also shows the details of each network including the security type, SSID, MAC address, and the channels which have the least amount of interference.

It takes a little while to get used to the way that this app presents the information, but it appears to do an accurate job of it.
