If you find that Wikipedia is a quick way of getting basic information then this is a must-have app for your Android device. Wapedia, an Android version of Wikipedia, links in with a 3G connection to the main site but then shows you the results in a mobile friendly format.
Wapedia is free on Android Market. It’s set up in a similar way as Wikipedia, with Categories, Featured Content, Random articles, Regular articles, etc.
You can toggle between the Wiktionary, Wikitravel and Wikiquote (etc) with the ‘Change Wiki’ option.
‘Categories’ will lead you to the different content categories.
You can bookmark anything interesting you find and share it on email, Twitter and Facebook etc.
You can’t edit or add content to Wikipedia via Wapedia, it’s really set up just as an interface to Wikipedia and other online wikis including Wictionary, Commons (for royalty-free images), and LOLCat Bible. It supports a whole heap of languages other than English too.
Wapedia isn’t a professional reference source, but it’s a relatively speedy way to search the wiki world from a mobile device.
