If you have got a great plan for data usage on your mobile, or wireless Internet in the home or office, rather than spending money communicating by SMS you can chat with your friends using a chat app like Live Chat.
Live Chat is a free and fully customizable Android chat application. With it you can chat and discuss the day’s events with your friends-more than one at a time-in real time.
You can use your Google account to sign in or create a new Live Chat ID.
Once you login you will be directed to your profile page where you can add some info about yourself like a photo, nickname and a short blurb on your life. You can also setup the default settings for your status.
For the picture you can take a photo from within the app or choose something that’s already on your phone/tablet.
To set up a chat with a group of friends, get them all to create an account and then launch the Live Chat app, go to groups and click on the Create own group.
Give your group a name and a topic and click create group. Your friends can simply then join the group.
You can choose what color you want the app to be in the Select Theme option.
The app looks plain and it’s undemanding, but then we suppose that’s the market the Live Chat developers were going for: add buddies, find out who’s online and chat away. Very simple, and as I mentioned, a great cheap alternative to SMS in many cases.
