I recently installed an efficient Android security and app manager app on my phone, good enough to write about; this app I think is easily one of the best multi-tasking Android apps out there.
ALYac is free on the Android Market and requires Android 2.1 or up.

This app has a lot of functions, and totally takes care of your Android device, whether it’s protecting you against malware, spam or a virus. The main menu features six easy to navigate buttons.

If you tap on the ‘Scan’ tab the app will scan all of the apps and files on your Android device, and detect any issues with malware.
The app maintains a log record of all the scans that it conducts.

Your apps are listed in ‘All Apps’, with ratings for safety. ‘Risky Apps’ are on another list, giving you an easy way to review and uninstall those apps that came up with a red flag. ‘Running Apps’ lists apps currently running on your device and provides you with a quick way to shut them down.
Similar to a desktop virus scanner, in the ‘Settings’ tab you can set up a regular scanning schedule and choose whether or not the app can access 3G or wi-Fi automatically.

Keeping ‘Real-Time protection’ on will have the app monitor installed applications and notify you of any security threats in real-time.
This includes a notification whenever a dangerous app is installed.

I did introduce this app as a multi-tasker though didn’t I? This app does spam management too. If you start getting spam from a certain number, or about a certain product/brand/topic, just register the phone number and/or certain keywords and then whenever you get a call from the registered number, or get a text message containing that spam keyword, the ALYac Android app will just block them.
ALYac gives you control over how you monitor for viruses and malware and how you handle spam calls and text.
