doubleTwist Player is a fully featured music and video player that seamlessly integrates with the doubleTwist Player desktop client on your computer. doubleTwist Player syncs your Android device with your PC, providing you with an easy way to sync your songs, playlists, podcasts, favorite radio channels and videos.
The doubleTwist app is free on the Android Market and it needs Android version 2.1 or above.
You need to install the doubleTwist Player app on your Android device and also download and install the doubleTwist desktop client on your computer.
After downloading, connect your Android device to your computer using a USB cable (or if you’re ready to spend USD 4.99 you can download doubleTwist AirSync which will allow you to connect the two using Wi-Fi).
The interface of doubleTwist on your computer is rather similar to iTunes, showing your device name on the left under ‘Devices’. The program will automatically set up a library of music, photos and videos from what is on your computer, including files you might otherwise interact with via iTunes.
Select ‘Sync music/photos/videos to my device’, select the content you want to sync/transfer to your Android device and click ‘Sync’ over in the right bottom corner.
If you want to sync only some files and not your whole collection you can create a new playlist and add your facvorite songs or videos into that list and then sync only that.
Once you finished syncing, disconnect the USB cable and take a look at your media files on your Android device via the doubleTwist Player app.
You can use the app to play any music that may have already been on your SD card too.
While playing, just tap the screen to get the play/pause and forward, backward buttons.
In the Settings you can name your device, automatically enable USB drive mode, play around with playlist management, headset controls, etc.
The doublTwist Player app is really great for syncing your device with your collection on your comptuer. The one and only drawback of this app is that you can’t create a playlist on your device from the doubleTwist Player app; that must be done through desktop software only.
