Scheduling tweets or Facebook posts is nothing new, but, when it comes to Gmail, there’s no default option for it. Although Gmail doesn’t offer such an option there is an add-on for Firefox and Chrome that can do it.
Once it’s installed you can see the Boomerang link in the upper right corner of your Gmail.
When you compose a message you can see a “Send Later” button. Click on it to schedule when you’d like the email sent.
Another useful feature is being able to re-send an email to yourself, as a reminder. When you open mail in your inbox you can see the Boomerang option in top right corner. Click on it to schedule the time to receive the mail again. Let’s say you have a deadline for a report due at 5pm … you could schedule the mail to be re-sent to you at 4pm as a reminder.
You can choose from options like ‘In 1 hour’, or ‘In 2 days’ or you can schedule it for a specific date/time.
Click on the Boomerang link in the top right corner of your Gmail window to manage the messages you already scheduled with Boomerang.
Gmail is a widely used and full-featured email client. This free add-on just fills in a couple of gaps in the service.
