If you have a friend who is too lazy to do a search on something, or who doesn’t know how to do a Google search—yeah really, they do still exist—you can do it for them and then email them a link direct to the results.
The let me Google that for you service allows you to search about anything using Google and then be provided with a shortened URL of the results page.
) and type your search in the field. The search result will be shortened to a tiny URL.
Send your friend the link. When they click on the link it will show the Google home page and the search being typed in, then the mouse clicks on ‘Google Search’ and after that they can see the search results.
It’s kind of fun and points out how simple a Google search really is … but it’s also useful in that it gives you a way of providing an easy to use URL of a Google result. So, from now on if anyone asks you something and you don’t know the answer but think they could find it on the web, visit “let me google that for you”, type in the term, send the URL and your part is done … cool!
