Plenty of reviewers have a problem with mirrored displays, especially it would seem in Europe. The Suncu keeps to the original in that the 12.1 screen is a back lit shiny version. As far as build quality is concerned our team found it all to be very much the same as the original.
![]() Here's something you don't see on every review, temperature testing. Our guys left the device on over night running the PC Mark benchmark in an attempt to get it nice and warm. In the morning we measured the temperature of various parts of the keyboard. This is what we found. Like most products in this category, the heat did build up considerably, possibly to the point that you wouldn't want it on your knees. ![]() ![]() Finally we have our favorite test of all. The robustness test. We had our 70 kilo reviewer (what do we feed these people!), stand on the device. It survived. Apparently this is a standard shanzhai style test, commonly used in markets to demonstrate the build quality. Here's a photo in case you don't believe us! ![]() Conclusions: To my mind Suncu have done a really good job here of proving to the wold that a shanzhai product need not be an inferior product. In terms of build quality, performance and features the Sunchu 12 is a match for the Acer D250, and with a larger screen size and battery, it could be fair to say that this guy is superior in some respects. The price tag too is reasonable. For around 35 dollars less you're getting a whole lot more netbook. About three weeks ago we brought you news of a forthcoming Acer Aspire D250 clone from Suncu. I'm happy to announce that the shanzai team has put together a review of one of the first full production units out of the factory gates. Key features include a larger, 12.1 screen screen and a bigger battery. Are you sold yet?
