 The popular iOrgane range of iPhone-inspired cell phones has just been extended with the addition of the iOrgane F9. Click on the “More pics and analysis” link to check out a video of the new phone while listening to the melodic strains of the Titanic theme song. The last in the F-series of iOrgane, the F9 uses its own “M-Smart” double viewpoints system, and comes in 2, 4 and 8GB flavours.  The F9’s a pretty good media player, compatible with MP3, MP4 and 3gp among other formats, and its built-in gravity sensor means when playing videos it can switch between horizontal and vertical freely. To top it off, it also supports the left and right sway function to switch between music tracks. Camera-wise it’s pretty slick, with a built-in 3,200,000 pixel CMOS web camera that supports zoom, multi shot, pan shot and a few other functions. Adobe Flash Player not installed or older than 9.0.115!  Western Opportunity Analysis: The iOrgane range has been very successful in China, but striking similarities to the iPhone could spell some problems for entry into Western markets. The company itself obviously has some great capabilites and marketing savvy – perhaps there’s an opportunity for some entrepreneur to approach iOrgane with a less iPhone-like design and incorporate the slick interface and affordable pricing.    Conclusions: Promising device from a well established and successful Chinese company. They might want to re-think the photoshop job they’ve done on the hand writing the Chinese character though – doesn’t exactly make the F9 look like something you could fit in your pocket…or suitcase.
